Our client is a leader in the maritime industry, specializing in shipbuilding, repair, and maintenance. We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with shipyard experience to join our client’s team and contribute to their innovative projects and high standards of quality.
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of mechanical systems and components in a shipyard environment. This role involves working on various stages of shipbuilding and repair projects, ensuring that all mechanical aspects meet industry standards and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and develop mechanical systems and components for ships, including propulsion systems, HVAC, and other onboard machinery.
• Conduct inspections, diagnostics, and repairs of mechanical systems
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated and efficient ship design and construction.
• Oversee the installation and testing of mechanical systems and components.
• Develop and review technical documentation, including blueprints, schematics, and reports.
• Ensure compliance with national and international maritime safety standards and regulations.
• Provide technical support and guidance to shipyard personnel during construction and repair projects.
• Conduct failure analysis and recommend corrective actions to improve system reliability and performance.
• Participate in dry-docking planning and execution, coordinating with project managers and port captains.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in marine engineering and shipbuilding technologies.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience working in a shipyard or marine engineering environment.
• Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and other engineering tools.
• Strong understanding of marine propulsion systems, HVAC, and other shipboard mechanical systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate technical information effectively.
• Knowledge of maritime safety standards and regulations.
